Mitosis and meiosis are two different processes that occur in cells for the purpose of cell division.
Mitosis
Mitosis is a type of cell division that occurs in somatic cells (non-reproductive cells) and is responsible for growth, development, repair, and maintaining the body's tissues.
It results in the formation of two genetically identical daughter cells, each with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.
